Christmas Paper Decorations

Christmas would not be Christmas without the fun, the tree and the presents. There are so many things that you need to get, your head will spin. Hold on for a second and hear some good news: make your own decorations. You will probably say I am crazy to make such a suggestion but have you ever thought of the value of good clean fun and quality time spent with the family making or assembling and putting up decorations.

Christmas Paper Decorations

There are numerous decoration ideas that you can find. I have found that the best decorations to make, especially for the kids are paper decorations. These are easy to make and children of all ages can participate in their making. My favourite Christmas paper decorations are candles, Santa Claus, bauble balls, snowflakes, garlands, Christmas trees, rosettes, berries and holly.

Making paper decorations should bring out the creative streak in adults and children. All these paper decorations can be made effortlessly. The paper Santa Claus is an old favourite of mine. For this you will need different coloured paints as well as some cotton wool or a fluffy felt cloth. The children will enjoy making masks of Santa Claus.

You need coloured paper for the candles in any colour. There are so many designs that one can think of for the shape of the candles. Draw the shape of the candle on the paper, including the flame and leaves around it and cut it out. The candle can then be painted yellow, white, red, peach or any other colour. Then the flame can be painted a bright yellow with streaks of orange and red. You can hang these on the tree or stick them on the wall.

You can also make snowflakes and paint them silver white. These can be stuck on the window and hang from the ceiling creating an impression of actual snow falling. The garlands, rosettes, berries and hollies can be hang on the tree or stuck on the fireplace.
